This role builds students’ technical skills and creative confidence through a diverse art curriculum that includes drawing, painting, sculpture, and craft, aligned with CBSE guidelines. You will plan lessons that integrate art history and cultural awareness, then guide students to express individual ideas while mastering techniques. Consequently, your ability to organise exhibitions, competitions, and school events will directly celebrate student achievement and enrich the school’s creative culture.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and deliver art lessons in accordance with CBSE guidelines, covering drawing, painting, sculpture, and craft to develop creativity and technical skills.
• Integrate art history and cultural awareness into lessons, helping students understand the broader context of artistic expression.
• Encourage individual expression and confidence, then assess student progress through assignments and projects, providing constructive feedback.
• Prepare students for exhibitions, competitions, and school events, organising art displays that showcase their work to the school community.
• Maintain a safe, organised, and stimulating art classroom environment, ensuring proper use and care of materials and equipment.
• Manage classroom behaviour effectively in line with school policies, fostering respect and focus during creative activities.
• Organise art exhibitions, displays, and creative events as part of co‑curricular activities, participating in school functions and celebrations.
• Maintain records of student performance and attendance, then collaborate with colleagues in staff meetings and communicate progress with parents.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts, Visual Arts, or a related field.
• B.Ed. or equivalent teaching qualification is preferred or mandatory per school policy.
• Minimum 2–3 years of teaching experience, preferably in a CBSE school.
• Knowledge of CBSE curriculum and assessment standards for art education.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills, with proficiency in various art techniques and mediums.
• Creativity and artistic ability, patience, adaptability, and strong interpersonal skills to inspire and motivate students.
• Organisational and time‑management skills to balance teaching, exhibitions, and administrative duties.
• A clean UK‑enhanced DBS or equivalent police check, as per GEMS Education’s safeguarding policy.
