Responsibilities of A Piping Discipline Manager

• Reports to the Engineering Manager.
• Manage the Piping engineering and design team.
• Single-point responsibility for all piping engineering deliverables and ensure that they conform to all applicable engineering codes and standards as well as the customers policies and procedures.
• Ensure to deliver the overall project to meet the asset operational needs.
• Provide direction and guidance on all technical queries relating to piping engineering.
• Participate in all project safety and design reviews as necessary.
• Ensure that all work is completed without compromise to quality and is delivered according to the project schedule.
• Liaise with the customers Engineering, Operations and Maintenance staff as required to ensure a consistent approach to project completion.
• Promote safe behaviour at all times.

Requirements for Role of Piping Discipline Manager

The eligibility requirements for role of Piping Discipline Manager are as under:

• Bachelor honours degree in a relevant engineering discipline from a recognised institution.
• Professional accreditation from recognised institute i.e. C Eng (UK), P Eng (USA & Canada), Eur Ing (Europe) or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum of 20 years of experience in the oil and gas industries.
• Proven track record in planning, coordinating and supervising teams of discipline engineers in oil and gas projects.
• Experience across all engineering phases (Concept/FEED/detail).
• Onshore brownfield Middle East experience.
• Proven track record in planning, coordinating and supervising teams of discipline engineers in oil and gas projects.

Knowledge & Skills Desired

• Strong working knowledge of international codes and standards.
• Familiar with the latest design engineering and analytical techniques/software.
• Strong problem solving skills.
• Good communication skills.
