Responsibilities of A Piping Discipline Manager
- Reports to the Engineering Manager.
- Manage the Piping engineering and design team.
- Single-point responsibility for all piping engineering deliverables and ensure that they conform to all applicable engineering codes and standards as well as the customers policies and procedures.
- Ensure to deliver the overall project to meet the asset operational needs.
- Provide direction and guidance on all technical queries relating to piping engineering.
- Participate in all project safety and design reviews as necessary.
- Ensure that all work is completed without compromise to quality and is delivered according to the project schedule.
- Liaise with the customers Engineering, Operations and Maintenance staff as required to ensure a consistent approach to project completion.
- Promote safe behaviour at all times.
Requirements for Role of Piping Discipline Manager
The eligibility requirements for role of Piping Discipline Manager are as under:
- Bachelor honours degree in a relevant engineering discipline from a recognised institution.
- Professional accreditation from recognised institute i.e. C Eng (UK), P Eng (USA & Canada), Eur Ing (Europe) or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum of 20 years of experience in the oil and gas industries.
- Proven track record in planning, coordinating and supervising teams of discipline engineers in oil and gas projects.
- Experience across all engineering phases (Concept/FEED/detail).
- Onshore brownfield Middle East experience.
- Proven track record in planning, coordinating and supervising teams of discipline engineers in oil and gas projects.
Knowledge & Skills Desired
- Strong working knowledge of international codes and standards.
- Familiar with the latest design engineering and analytical techniques/software.
- Strong problem solving skills.
- Good communication skills.
