Purpose of Pharmacist

Responsible for dispensing medications and ensuring their effective and safe use as per prescription. Providing information about usage and dosage of medicines, their purpose and potential side effects.

Job Duties of a Pharmacist

• Dispense medicines to in Patient/ out patient as per doctor’s prescription.
• Review every prescription before dispensing to determine the dosage and strength of medication.
• Answer the patient’s queries regarding the use and purpose of medication.
• Contact the physician in case of any ambiguity or error in the prescription order.
• Support and provide guidance to the new pharmacy staff.
• Deliver a effective, professional and comprehensive pharmaceutical services to patients.
• Ensure compliance to patient safety standards and regulatory requirements of the hospital.
• Maintain the medication inventory. Restock the drugs in low quality or that are out of stock.
• Ensure accuracy in patient billing process.

Education & Experience

• B- Pharm / D- Pharm from an approved institute.
• 2-3 years of Professional experience.
• DHA license to work in UAE.

Knowledge & Skills

• Thorough knowledge of human physiology and Biochemistry.
• Excellent Communication skills.
• Ability to interpret prescription orders.
• Time management skills.
• Organizational skills.
