Role of Pharmacist

To provide customers with an effective pharmaceutical service by dispensing medications to inpatient / outpatient as per the physician’s prescription. Also, to provide information to customers about use, dosage and possible interactions of drugs.

Duties of Pharmacist

• Before dispensing the drug, review and interpret each prescription.
• Provide appropriate patient information concerning the dispensed medications.
• Answer medicine related queries of doctors, nurses and other medical professionals.
• Assist in the training of Junior pharmacist staff.
• Provide the customer with information and advice regarding drug interactions, side effects, dosage and proper medication storage.
• Ensure understanding the customer’s needs by conducting necessary questioning and provide assistance when necessary.
• Manage monthly reports related to all sales concerning controlled medicines as required by external authorities such as Dubai Health Authority, Ministry of Health.

Qualification & Experience

• Pharmacy Degree from an accredited college or school of pharmacy.
• At least five (5+) years of experience as a hospital pharmacist in UAE.
• Current license in the country of origin with DHA license to practice in Dubai, UAE.

Knowledge & Skills

• Good command of English.
• Good knowledge of Excel sheets & computers.
• Arabic is desirable but not essential.
• Thorough knowledge of DHA policies and regulations regarding pharmaceuticals.
• Supervisory skills preferred.
