Paediatric ENT (Otolaryngology) Consultant – Abu Dhabi Full-time

This role manages the full spectrum of ear, nose, and throat disorders in children—from recurrent otitis media and airway obstruction to congenital head and neck anomalies—within a state-of-the-art specialty hospital co-managed with a major US medical institution. You will perform paediatric-specific surgical procedures including tympanostomy tube placement, adenotonsillectomy, bronchoscopy, and cleft palate repair. The position operates within a US-collaborative surgical institute, where your decisions directly impact paediatric breathing, hearing, feeding, and speech development.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and manage paediatric ENT conditions including chronic otitis media, sinusitis, obstructive sleep apnoea, and congenital airway anomalies.
• Perform surgical procedures such as myringotomy with tube insertion, adenoidectomy, tonsillectomy, and functional endoscopic sinus surgery (FESS) in children.
• Conduct rigid and flexible bronchoscopy for airway evaluation, foreign body removal, and laryngeal cleft repair.
• Manage paediatric hearing loss through examination under anaesthesia, tympanostomy, and coordination with audiology for amplification or cochlear implantation.
• Treat head and neck conditions including branchial cleft cysts, thyroglossal duct cysts, and vascular malformations.
• Provide perioperative care for children with complex medical histories including craniofacial syndromes, Down syndrome, and bleeding disorders.
• Collaborate with paediatric anaesthesiologists, intensivists, and speech therapists for airway reconstruction and post-operative swallowing rehabilitation.
• Supervise junior medical staff and ENT residents rotating through the paediatric service.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Specialty qualification in ENT/Otolaryngology from a Tier 1 country recognized by UAE licensing authority (e.g., CCT, CCST, American Board, FRACP, RCPSC, DES, Fachärztliche Anerkennung/Urkunde).
• Subspecialty training in Paediatric Surgery (as recognized by the UAE licensing framework).
• Minimum 2 years post-specialty experience in a hospital setting within Western Europe, North America, or Australasia.
• Demonstrated case log of paediatric ENT surgical procedures including airway endoscopy and tympanostomy tube placement.
• Experience managing paediatric obstructive sleep apnoea and congenital airway anomalies.
• Valid consultant-level license or eligibility for UAE licensure from a Tier 1 country.
• Fluency in English required; Arabic language skills preferred.
