Job Description

The College of Health Sciences (CoHS) at Abu Dhabi University (ADU) invites applications for Open Rank Faculty positions at the Assistant Professor level or higher in Molecular and Medical Genetics/ Medical Genetic counseling beginning September 2024. The successful candidate will be involved in teaching and developing undergraduate and graduate level courses such as Principles of Medical Genetics, Gene Expression, Public Health Genetics, Evolutionary Genetics, Bioinformatics, Medical Genetic Counseling, et. They seek applicants who are dedicated to excellence in research, teaching, and training the next generation of biomedical research scientists with expertise in the following areas: Molecular and Medical Genetics/ Medical Genetic counseling.

Responsibilities of Open Rank Faculty

  • Additional responsibilities include student advising, mentoring, curriculum development and assessment, department and committee service, and participation in student recruitment and placement.

Job Requirements of Open Rank Faculty

The requirements for the job role of Open Rank Faculty are as under:

  • Must hold a Ph.D. from an internationally accredited university, with relevant work experience.
  • Minimum 3 year experience in similar role.

Skills & Knowledge Desired

  • Requiring evidence of conducting hands on and field courses and mentoring students.
  • The applicant must have robust teaching and research experience and work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English are must.
  • Applicants must have a record of peer reviewed publications, as judged by. Their h-index (10 for Assistant Professor, 15 for Associate Professor, and 25 for Professor).
