Al Ain English Speaking School needs a passionate Music Teacher to join its team from August 2026. This full time role involves teaching Music across secondary year groups. You will deliver engaging and high quality lessons that inspire curiosity and a love for music. The school follows the British Curriculum. Therefore, you will prepare students effectively for GCSE, iGCSE, and A Level examinations. You will also contribute to curriculum development and enrichment opportunities. The school is located in Al Ain, known as the Garden City. If you have a bachelor degree in Music and a recognised teaching qualification, this role could be for you.
Key Responsibilities for Music Teacher
- Deliver engaging practical music lessons that promote enquiry and critical thinking. Teach students how to play instruments, read music, and appreciate different genres.
- Prepare students effectively for GCSE, iGCSE, and A Level music examinations. Use a range of teaching methods to meet individual learning needs.
- Contribute positively to curriculum development. Help design schemes of work that inspire creativity. Promote high expectations of achievement and behaviour.
- Work collaboratively within a strong and supportive team. Share best practices and participate in department meetings. Organise school concerts, performances, and music enrichment activities.
- Encourage students to participate in extracurricular music clubs and ensembles. Support school events and productions. Finally, commit to continuous professional development and stay updated with educational research.
Qualifications
You need a bachelor degree in Music or a related discipline. A recognised teaching qualification such as PGCE, BEd, or equivalent is essential. Experience teaching the British Curriculum is required. Experience teaching GCSE or iGCSE Music is also required. A commitment to raising standards and inspiring students is essential. Middle management positions might be available for suitable candidates.
