Every test result you produce will guide a doctor’s next critical decision at a leading hospital in Dubai. You will operate high‑precision analyzers, perform diagnostic testing, and validate results across haematology, microbiology, and clinical chemistry departments. Your accuracy and timeliness in reporting will directly influence patient diagnosis, treatment, and safety in a JCI‑accredited, fast‑paced medical environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory analyzers and equipment (haematology, chemistry, coagulation, immunoassay, microbiology) following manufacturer instructions and departmental SOPs.
• Perform routine and specialised diagnostic tests on blood, urine, and other biological specimens, ensuring results are accurate, timely, and reported within defined turnaround times.
• Conduct daily quality control checks, participate in proficiency testing (e.g., CAP), and document corrective actions for any out‑of‑range results.
• Identify and communicate critical, urgent, and abnormal results to physicians immediately, following established critical value call‑back protocols.
• Maintain laboratory inventory by monitoring stock levels, ordering supplies, and verifying receipts to prevent shortages.
• Adhere to DHA regulations, CAP standards, and infection control protocols, ensuring a safe and compliant working environment.
• Troubleshoot instrument malfunctions, perform minor repairs, and escalate unresolved issues to the supervisor or biomedical engineering team.
• Assist in method validation, equipment evaluation, and implementation of new testing procedures as directed by the senior technologist or lab manager.
• Participate in the lab’s quality improvement programme, including incident investigation, root cause analysis, and monthly focus group meetings.
• Maintain strict patient confidentiality and ethical laboratory practices, promoting a patient‑centred culture.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Valid DHA license or DHA eligibility letter as a Medical Laboratory Technologist (mandatory).
• Minimum 2 years of clinical laboratory experience in a hospital or diagnostic centre, preferably within the UAE.
• Strong knowledge of laboratory information systems (LIS) and proficiency in standard laboratory software.
• Excellent understanding of quality control, quality assurance, and regulatory standards (CAP, ISO 15189).
• Fluency in English (written and spoken); knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.
• Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays, in a 24/7 laboratory environment.
