Role of Mechanical Maintenance Technician

A Senior Maintenance Technician’s role is to maintain all Mechanical Equipment’s & Systems on 3 Satellites and all 96 WHPTs. To achieve and maintain all the Mechanical equipment in his area of concern in their best operating conditions, in line with ADNOC Maintenance Management System. Guides and leads his Subordinates, checks and controls the progress records and reports the activities.

Accountabilities of Mechanical Maintenance Technician

• Obtains work permits from area authority. Reviews the assigned work and arranges for the Transport, Material, Tools, and Equipment to complete the work.
• Understands every assignment fully and clearly, and carries out toolbox talk with team members for every task.
• Divides work to assigned Technicians. Participates in the work and in diagnosis of faults of more complex nature. Inspects and tests the completed work to ensure that it has been done according to ADNOC standards before handing back to Operating section.
• Carries out Routine and Preventive maintenance, including replacing worn parts/damaged parts and carries out test runs as necessary.
• Carries out major overhaul of Equipment and restores them back to standard conditions. Prepares the requirements of spares and tools.
• Checks that the Replacement parts are available in store, prepares necessary Requisitions and proposes alternatives in case of shortage.
• Maintains clear documents, drawings/charts and intervention records of the equipment.
• Carries out safe Installation and Re-commissioning of Mechanical equipment including alignments.
• Issues Comprehensive daily activity reports outlining the cause of the fault, the nature of the work and the materials, labor, and time taken to complete task.

What you’ll do

• Prepare the requirements of Spares, Tools, Scaffolding, Fabrication, Lifting/material handling, and manpower for planned shutdown activities of vessels, valves and pipelines.
• Lead, guide, control and carry out Shutdown activities effectively and safely and restore to standard conditions.
• Keep all tools and test equipment Clean and Serviceable, and advice Supervisor of spare parts requirements.
• Ensure the conduction of all maintenance activities within company standing instructions and procedures and good oil industry practices.
• Observe and follow company HSE Procedures. Exercise good housekeeping practices.
• Provide Training and Coaching to newly employed UAE Nationals to achieve high level of Competency and timely integration.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 5 to 7 years of mechanical maintenance experience preferably in the oil and petrochemical industry, including 2 years in a Senior Technician position.

Knowledge & Skills

• Good working knowledge of MS Windows, MS Office programs and MAXIMO.
• Fluent in English language, both written and verbal with high Communication Skills.
