Material Engineer – Abu Dhabi Full-time

Parsons is seeking a talented Material Engineer to join our team in Abu Dhabi. In this role, you will be responsible for the monitoring, inspection, coordination, witnessing, and documentation of all project materials to ensure full compliance with contract and Authorities requirements, applicable standards, and project specifications.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Conduct tests on asphalt, concrete, and soil, and maintain accurate and up-to-date testing logs.
• Identify, document, and track material non-conformances; prepare compliance and certification documentation.
• Monitor material deliveries and associated approvals; review mix designs and verify calibration of laboratory equipment.
• Coordinate sampling and testing activities with contractors; support audits through proper records; maintain full material traceability.
• Review contractor material submittals and secure required approvals.
• Act as the focal point at site for scheduling, controlling, and tracking construction materials and related equipment.
• Perform site inspections to confirm that the works comply with contract specifications and approved materials.
• Coordinate and oversee the work of subconsultants responsible for material testing.
• Maintain project material records and office files; prepare and update daily diaries and reports.
• Verify that only approved materials are incorporated into the works and are stored and handled correctly on site.
• Provide technical guidance and support to junior staff as needed.

What Required Skills You’ll Bring

• B.Sc. degree in Engineering (Civil or related discipline).
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in roads and infrastructure projects.
• Strong ability to read and interpret drawings, plans, and technical specifications.
• Thorough familiarity with construction processes and practices relevant to roads and infrastructure.
• Preferably experienced working within the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, including dealing with local authorities for approvals.
• Equivalency certificate (as applicable to Abu Dhabi/UAE regulations).
