Job Purpose of A Master Planning Manager

• To be responsible for design, promotion and administration of Economic Cities and Free Zones master plans and development codes/policies affecting land use, zoning, community facilities, housing, Public Realm and utilities and infrastructure.
• To form and develop master plans and other planning documents or Policies in consultation with government agencies, internal stakeholders, developers/AD Ports Tenants and special interest groups.

Duties of A Master Planning Manager

• Ensure conduction of field surveys and research to compile and analyze data on economic, social, regulatory and physical factors influencing land use decision-making.
• Contribute to the review and assessment of plot allocation submitted by developers/AD Ports Tenants and provision of appropriate recommendations on plot allocations and design suitability based on legal, regulatory, environmental, economic and social guidelines.
• Gathering Up-to-date Information on economic and legal legislations concerning zoning codes, building codes, and environmental regulations.
• Communicate and coordinate with government agencies and other stakeholders outside AD Ports, representing AD Ports in government committees.
• Oversee data analysis using a variety of tools and technology including geographic information systems tools, visualization and presentation programs.
• Ensure Coordination with other Government authorities to update their GIS system as per latest master plan subdivision in addition to Infrastructure Design within AD Ports Lands.
• Manage communities’ facilities provision within Group master plans.
• Contribute to land management policies including site allocation procedures for land use appropriateness, infrastructure, utilities, facilities and tenants.
• Lead the provision of plot allocation reports as part of the plot allocation process, and preparation of necessary affection plans related to lease registry requirements.
• Provide input in Real-estate developments from Urban Planning View.

What You’ll Do More?

• Provide Planning input into Legal issues related to Lands in AD Ports Group.
• Lead and Conduct Specialist Planning Studies for AD Ports Group as requested by leadership.
• Perform other relevant functions in the Urban Planning Division as assigned by line manager.
• Lead Site Clearance Activities with authorities including existing assets clearance from a planning side.
• Lead coordination activities on strategic initiatives with other government including but not limited to Highways, Etihad Rail, UPC Special.
• Coordinate trainings for the ABU DHABI PORTS team on Urban Planning topics as required.
• Manage Consultants outsourced to the Urban Planning team for master planning studies and ensure that services are provided on time and within budget.
• Report on Urban Planning Activities as required by VP.

Qualification & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Urban Planning, or associated field.
• Master’s Degree or equivalent preferred. 
• Minimum 8 years of experience in Urban Planning with multi discipline approach.

Skills Desired

• Written and Spoken English is essential, Arabic is preferred.
