Job Description

The department of Vice Dean for Medicine, College of Medicine & Health Sciences, United Arab Emirates University is actively hiring for the job role of Maintenance Technician. The selected candidate is responsible to attending all type of maintenance at CMHS building which includes electrical, plumping, aluminum, carpentry and drainage. This vacancy was announced by the university on January 18, 2024. Candidate desirous for this role should submit their resume to begin with the application process.

Responsibilities of Maintenance Technician

  • Support all activities at CMHS.
  • Evaluate, monitor, and facilitate contractor work progress of CMHS building renovation project.
  • Routine inspection of the entire facility on a daily basis.
  • Support IT and AV section for modifications and maintenance within the campus.
  • Support faculty and staff for requirements that come on a daily basis.
  • Supervise and support the administration department for any major maintenance and modification works.
  • Support students and external activities in and around the building.
  • Support facilities department in the absence of the supervisor.
  • Support housing department in the absence of staff and in case of emergencies.
  • Purchase petty cash materials on an emergency basis.
  • Any other duties assigned by his immediate supervisor and superiors
  • Electrical Works: Maintaining and overhauling of main panels and switchboards.
  • Maintenance of existing electrical systems in the campus.
  • Replacing damaged bulbs and tubes for lighting all over the campus.
  • Maintain stocks of emergency electrical consumables and spares for maintenance works.
  • Plumbing: All plumbing works like modification, repair, and maintenance of existing facilities and new minor requirements.
  • All plumbing works for the irrigation system, including breakdown maintenance and rectification works.
  • Maintain stocks of emergency plumbing materials for maintenance works.
  • Carpentry & Aluminum Works: Repair and maintenance of all wooden and aluminum works in the campus.
  • Space Management: Modify workspaces according to the requirement and need for the faculty and staff members as and when required.
  • Emergency: Support emergency calls related to power failure or piping works or any other emergency situation 24 x 7.

Job Requirements of Maintenance Technician

  • Trade Certificates in Mechanical Should have at least 10 to15 years’ experience in MEP Works.

Skills and Knowledge Desired

  • Problem identification and solving skills.
