Post Contract Commercial Lead for larger value projects which include the management of junior commercial team.
Role Overview
The Lead Quantity Surveyor takes full commercial ownership of post-contract activities on high-value projects, leading cost management, contract administration and the development of a junior commercial team to protect project margins and ensure value for money.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all post-contract commercial and quantity surveying activities for larger value projects.
- Manage, mentor and develop a team of junior quantity surveyors and commercial staff.
- Prepare, review and certify interim valuations, payment applications and final accounts.
- Administer contracts, assess variations, and manage claims and contractual correspondence.
- Monitor project budgets, cost reports and cash flow, and report on commercial performance.
- Procure and manage subcontractor packages, including evaluation and negotiation.
- Identify commercial risks and opportunities and recommend mitigation measures.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Extensive post-contract quantity surveying experience on large-value projects, ideally in the UAE.
- Strong knowledge of FIDIC and standard forms of contract.
- Proven team leadership and people-management capability.
- Excellent negotiation, reporting and stakeholder-management skills.
- Professional membership (e.g. RICS) is an advantage.
