Job Description

The Dubai College UAE is seeking to appoint a passionate, hardworking and inspiring LAMDA Teacher to join their thriving Drama Department. They have a wide range of students taking the Acting and Musical Theatre qualification inside school and hope to integrate the Public Speaking course into the college’s daily life. They are only able to consider candidates residing in the UAE on a valid residence visa and holding the appropriate work permit to undertake freelance work.

Responsibilities of LAMDA Teacher

  • The successful applicant will set up and oversee the Public Speaking course within the school, starting with solo lessons and working towards group sessions, depending on need..
  • You will have the overall responsibility of creating resources, publicising and promoting LAMDA to parents and students.
  • You will also support the Drama department by running workshops and preparing students for other performances within the school.
  • You will work closely with Director of Drama to put together a schedule of lessons & support students with their examinations.

Job Requirements of LAMDA Teacher

  • Bachelor Degree in Education.
  • Minimum 2 year experience in similar role.
  • Teaching experience of the LAMDA qualification for ages 11 to18.
  • If you have experience in teaching the Trinity qualification, this would not be to your
    disadvantage.

Skills & Knowledge Desired

  • Outstanding knowledge of the LAMDA specification.
  • Excellent communication, organisation and administrative skills.
  • An extensive range of theatrical knowledge of both contemporary and classical play texts.

It would be an advantage if the successful candidate has

  • Previous history of a high pass rate, merit or above.
  • Knowledge or experience of setting up a LAMDA assessment center.
  • LAMDA qualification minimum Level 3 or above.
  • Has experience of leading showcases for parents and students.
