Junior Dentist at Thumbay Dental Hospital Full-time

Responsible to examine the dental and oral hygiene of patients, and either offering advice, or carrying out procedures based on the assigned privileges.

• Diagnose and treat problems with patient’s teeth, gums, and related parts of the mouth. Provide advice and instruction on taking care of teeth and gums and on diet choices that affect oral health.
• Operate technical equipment such as X-ray machines and also keeps accurate records of patients’ dental structure (which may need to be used to identify individuals)
• Carries out various procedures and make models and measurements for dental appliances, such as dentures, to fit patients.
• Keeps up-to-date with developments in dentistry Science.
• Organization and clinical management of acute pain services and participation in pain medicine units where applicable.
• Continuing responsibility for the care of patients in his/her charge and the proper functioning of the department.

Patient care

• Perform clinical responsibilities, specific surgical procedures as per privileges assigned based on the respective credentials.
• Diagnose and treat patients according to established standards of best practice – including history taking, clinical examination, investigation, treatment and referral as and when appropriate
• Maintain Confidentiality of patient information at all the time.
• Regularly review results of all investigations and modify treatment as required
• Providing general pre- and post-operative care.
• Ensure patient safety and guidelines are followed at all time. Maintain impartiality of patients being treated with professional ethics

Patient identification

• Ensure correct patient identification before any treatment or procedure as per the International Patient Safety Goals.

Patient education

• Promoting health education on wellness, disease prevention and early detection by providing materials and resources to the patients and families
• Communicate the patient’s clinical status to the patient, the family/legal guardian and the other members of the health care team as appropriate.
