Key Responsibilities for Instructor in Landscape Design Al Ain, UAE

• Plan and deliver lab sessions for undergraduate landscape design courses. Use AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Lumion to build skills progressively across the semester.
• Teach students to produce professional drawings, 3D models, and rendered visuals. Ensure all outputs meet current industry presentation standards.
• Guide students through softscaping and hardscaping projects. Give specific feedback on plant selection, spatial layout, materials, and design logic.
• Develop lab exercises, project briefs, and assessment rubrics. Base these on UAE landscape practices and regional environmental conditions.
• Track new software developments and industry trends. Then bring updated tools and techniques directly into lab sessions each term.
• Give individual and group feedback at every project stage — from schematic design through to final presentation.
• Work closely with lecture-track faculty. Align lab content so it reinforces and extends what students learn in theory classes.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture, Landscape Design, or a closely related field from a recognized institution.
• At least 3 years of experience in landscape design teaching or professional practice. Clear skills in both softscaping and hardscaping are essential.
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Lumion. A portfolio showing professional-level design and visualization work is required.
• Solid knowledge of ornamental plants and cultural practices. You must apply this knowledge within real designed landscape contexts.
• Clear communication skills. You can explain technical processes to students at different skill levels without losing clarity.
• Knowledge of UAE landscape practices, local plant palettes, and climate-responsive design is a strong advantage.
• A PhD adds value but is not required.
• Prior curriculum development experience is preferred.
