The Arbor School needs an experienced Inclusion Teacher to join its primary team. You will support students with special educational needs and disabilities. In addition, you will help a team of inclusion teachers and support staff. Your goal is to implement research driven inclusive practices. You will work under the SENDCo and the Head of Thrive. This role suits someone who enjoys coaching and mentoring. You will also take part in action research projects. Therefore, you will help develop sustainable skills for students. The school welcomes candidates with extensive SEND experience.
Key Responsibilities for Inclusion Teacher, The Arbor School, Dubai
- Modify and develop appropriate curriculum and interventions. Meet the needs of a diverse range of students. For example, those with autism, dyslexia, ADHD, and physical disabilities.
- Support the SENDCo in promoting learning and personal development. Focus on students with special educational needs and disabilities. Play a key role in embedding a learning culture centred on the school’s mission and promise.
- Coach and mentor members of the Arbor community. Share best practices with class teachers and support staff. Help them implement inclusive strategies in their classrooms.
- Take part in action research projects. Focus on meeting needs and developing sustainable skills. Use data to improve your practice.
- Create a caring and nurturing classroom environment. Use active voice in your teaching. Assess student progress regularly. Provide constructive feedback to students and parents.
- Communicate proactively with colleagues and parents. Assume positive intent. Meet agreed deadlines. Finally, bring your passions and interests to enrich the school community.
Qualifications
You need native level English language skills. A bachelor degree in Inclusion, SEND, or a similar subject is essential. You also need a PGCE in SEND with QTS or an equivalent qualification. A minimum of three to five years of experience in a reputable school is required. A British curriculum background is preferred. You must have a track record of outstanding teaching and learning. The school looks for candidates who can create a caring and nurturing environment.
