This role delivers inspiring Individuals and Societies lessons within an IB continuum school, therefore fostering critical thinking, global awareness, and a deep understanding of human societies, history, geography, and contemporary issues. As a generalist with interest or experience in Psychology or Economics, you will design engaging, inquiry‑based learning experiences that prepare students for the IB Diploma and life beyond. Consequently, your passion for social sciences and commitment to the Taaleem ethos of excellence, innovation, creativity, and compassion will directly shape curious, knowledgeable, and principled young global citizens.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver high‑quality I&S lessons aligned with the IB MYP framework, therefore ensuring students develop conceptual understanding, critical thinking, and research skills.
- Incorporate inquiry‑based learning, real‑world case studies, and interdisciplinary connections to make Individuals and Societies relevant and engaging.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of learners, including those with EAL, SEN, and high abilities, fostering an inclusive classroom environment.
- Assess and monitor student progress using IB MYP assessment criteria, then use data to refine teaching strategies and support student growth.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum resources, share best practice, and contribute to the school’s vibrant, multicultural community.
- Participate in professional development and remain current with best practices in social sciences education, technology‑enhanced learning, and IB pedagogy.
- Contribute to the wider school community through extracurricular activities, school events, and initiatives that promote ethical leadership and global citizenship.

Requirements And Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Sciences, History, Geography, Economics, Psychology, or a related field, plus PGCE/PGDE, QTS, or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Minimum 2 years of teaching experience (preferred).
- Experience teaching the IB MYP (Individuals and Societies) is desirable but not essential.
- Interest or experience in Psychology or Economics as a specialist area within I&S is strongly preferred.
- Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus.
- Strong understanding of best practices, current pedagogy, and technology‑enhanced learning.
- Proven ability to foster a positive, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment.
- A passion for education and a commitment to nurturing each student’s potential.
- Clean police check / DBS as required by Taaleem’s safeguarding policy.
