Job Title

HVAC Technician

Responsibilities

  • Check and service HVAC systems like chillers, air handlers, and cooling towers.
  • Fix air conditioning and refrigeration units to keep them running well.
  • Install new HVAC equipment, following safety and technical rules.
  • Use Building Management Systems to cut energy use and improve performance.
  • Stick to maintenance plans and standard work procedures.
  • Write down repair details, equipment checks, and maintenance tasks.
  • Track spare parts and report when more are needed.
  • Test air quality to meet health and environmental standards.
  • Show newer technicians how to do tasks correctly.
  • Report equipment problems to the supervisor quickly.
  • Follow Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment (QHSE) rules.
  • Attend safety meetings, like toolbox talks and risk training.
  • Inspect systems often to catch issues early.
  • Learn new HVAC skills through supervisor-led training.
  • Use technical drawings to guide repairs and setups.

Requirements

Education

Technical certificate or diploma in HVAC, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

Experience

 1–3 years working on HVAC or MEP systems in facilities or similar roles.

Skills

  • Good at finding and fixing HVAC equipment issues.
  • Strong problem-solving for technical problems.
  • Clear communication to work with teams and supervisors.
  • Ability to manage time and handle multiple tasks.
  • Careful attention to detail for quality work.
  • Skill in helping less experienced technicians.

Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of HVAC systems, like compressors and air handlers.
  • Familiarity with Building Management Systems and controls.
