Health Care Assistant SP – Pediatric Ward Full-time

American Hospital Dubai is seeking a compassionate and reliable Health Care Assistant (HCA) for its Pediatric Ward. Working under the direction of the registered nursing team, the Health Care Assistant supports the delivery of safe, high-quality, family-centred care to infants, children and adolescents, helping to create a comfortable and reassuring environment for young patients and their families.

Responsibilities

• Assist nursing staff in providing direct patient care to paediatric patients, including bathing, feeding, dressing and mobility support appropriate to the child’s age and condition.
• Monitor and record basic observations such as temperature, pulse, respiration, weight and height, and report any changes to the registered nurse.
• Help prepare patients, equipment and treatment areas for clinical procedures and examinations.
• Maintain a clean, safe, tidy and well-stocked ward environment in line with infection prevention and control standards.
• Support children and their families with comfort, reassurance and age-appropriate activities during their hospital stay.
• Accurately document care provided and escalate any concerns promptly to senior nursing staff.
• Adhere to all hospital policies, patient safety standards and occupational health and safety guidelines.

Requirements / Qualifications

• High school diploma; a recognised Health Care Assistant, Nursing Aide or equivalent certificate is preferred.
• Previous experience as a Health Care Assistant, ideally within a paediatric or hospital setting.
• DHA eligibility or licensing as required for the role is an advantage.
• Good spoken and written English; Arabic is an advantage.
• Caring, patient and team-oriented approach, with strong communication skills and the ability to work with children and families.
