About the Head of Strategic Enablement and Execution role
This Head of Strategic Enablement and Execution position suits a driven professional who wants to build a long-term career in Islamic banking with a leading UAE institution in Abu Dhabi.
Role Purpose:
The role will be responsible for assisting the Head of Strategy with end-to-end Strategic planning for the Bank. This will include providing professional input and direction to the Bank’s Strategy, working with various cross-functional teams to identify, evaluate and analyze evolving strategic priorities, setting strategic objectives, and monitoring delivery of the Bank’s strategy. This role requires working independently but collaboratively with cross-functional teams, especially on the business side, risk management and Finance.
Key Accountabilities of the role
1. Support the Head of Strategy to own the Bank’s Strategic Agenda which includes:
- Full understanding of the Bank’s Strategy and the specific milestones and key performance indicators to track, report and support the delivery of the Strategy
- Work in full collaboration with the various business and functions in the Bank to ensure that both tactical and Strategic decisions are in line with the overall direction set by the Executive team and the Board under the umbrella of the 5-year Strategy
- Monitor and report delivery against objectives
2. Support with the Head of Strategy to develop and refine the annual 5-year corporate planning process
3. Facilitate strategic planning workshops and meetings
4. Prepare presentations and papers for ExCom and Board level consumption
5. Monitor and report on the progress of strategic projects
6. Support Head of Strategy with updates to Senior management on the key developments in the market through structured market intelligence
7. Identify relevant external market developments and macroeconomic events that create opportunities and risk in relation to the Strategy
8. Active involvement in ensuring that the Digital and AI Strategy and Transformation is on track
Specialist Skills / Technical Knowledge Required for this role:
- Experienced in preparing and presenting strategic business plans
- Understanding of financial modelling and statistical analysis
- Proven experience in strategy development and corporate planning (Retail Banking specific background an advantage)
- Strong leadership and ability to engage a wide range of stakeholder groups
- Strong understanding of Banking products and services as well as key financial metrics and KPI’s which drive value creation
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills in English
- Ability to work independently, handle ambiguity and manage multiple priorities
