About the Role

As Head of Art at Noya British School, you will lead the strategic direction and development of the Art department while contributing to the school’s overall vision and improvement plan. Furthermore, you will use performance data to inform planning and ensure teaching and learning continues to add value across all year groups. Moreover, this leadership position involves managing classroom support effectively, assessing and recording student progress systematically, and developing plans with clear targets and success criteria for the department’s growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the Art department ensuring alignment with the school’s vision and improvement plan
• Use performance data to inform planning and ensure teaching quality adds value
• Assess and record students’ progress systematically, monitoring strengths and areas for development
• Ensure effective and efficient deployment of classroom support resources
• Develop plans with clear targets and success criteria for department development
• Comply with the school’s Performance Management Policy and set challenging annual targets
• Contribute to the whole school’s visioning activities
• Engage in annual training on child protection, safeguarding, and health and safety

Requirements

• Minimum Bachelor’s Degree with PGCE or equivalent teaching certification
• Minimum 6 years of experience teaching Art
• Strong experience teaching the English National Curriculum at secondary level
• Knowledge of UAE Ministry of Education and ADEK regulations
• Previous experience working with EAL students
• International school experience is an advantage
• Commitment to the ideals of international education
