NMC Healthcare is currently looking to hire a candidate for the job role of Head Nurse ER/Urgent Care Experience in NMC Royal Hospital, DIP, Dubai, UAE. This is a Senior level full time job. And salary can range between 10000-20000 AED/month.
Responsibilities of Head Nurse ER/Urgent Care Experience
- Perform duties as per NMC guiding principles and model of care, DHA regulation and other regulatory authorities, accreditation body.
- Provide culturally appropriate patient focused nursing care.
- Applies & ensures the international patient safety goals throughout the patient journey and care process.
- Respects patient and applies patient family rights throughout the patient care, with empathy, emotional stability.
- Standards of care: To ensure that the highest standard of evidence-based nursing care is deliver to all patients and their families.
- To act as patient advocate, ensuring privacy, dignity and confidentiality are meet.
- To monitor and ensure patient satisfaction and proactive in managing any issue that is identify.
- To act as a resource of specialist clinical knowledge and information for ICU staff and ensure that all nursing practices are meeting the required standards.
- To promote reflective practice and learning in order to ensure that nursing care is research based, appropriate and responsive to patient needs.
- To ensure that all provision of nursing care is document on a timely basis and accurately reflects the patient experience.
- To work closely with the consultants for the achievement of effective patient management ensuring that individual consultant care protocols are follow.
- To ensure a high standard of infection control and the prevention of all avoidable healthcare associated infection in the department.
- To participate in the setting of standards and agree clinical audit topics with the Director of nursing services, ensuring that the identified audits take place with any actions implemented.
- To organize any necessary admission, transfer in and out of the facilitates in consultation with medical staff.
- To discuss and promote innovations that will improve patient care with the administrator.
Professional
- To complete and maintain the competency portfolio within the allocate time frames and ensure that all other clinical training requirements are fulfill according to local requirements and the department training calendar.
- To successfully complete the Immediate Life Support course on an annual basis.
- To ensure personal continuing professional development (CPD) is maintain to comply with DHA requirements.
- To ensure that all mandatory training is attend within the required time frames.
- To maintain current awareness regarding developments in nursing and in the critical care service.
- To attend Hospital meetings and functions, as required
- Managerial: To manage a smooth, efficient work flow in ICU ensuring that high standards are consistently met.
- To comply with all aspects of the quality and patient safety ensure the department meets the requirements of the accrediting body and regulatory body.
- To identify and discuss with the Director of nursing services, supervisor any potential areas for developing the service or for maximizing financial opportunities.
- To take a lead with implementing any new service development or initiative.
- To ensure that Customer Care standards are adhere to.
- To investigate incidents, accidents, concerns, near-misses, non-conformities and complaints pertaining to ICU, ensuring that reporting form is collected within agreed deadlines.
- To be responsible for the ordering of all supplies.
- To ensure that equipment in the department is regularly maintained and where required, repaired or replaced on a timely basis.
- Financial: To effectively manage the service and work closely with the Director of nursing services in order to meet or exceed the financial targets for the department.
- To ensure that stock levels are adequate and controlled.
- To ensure that all revenue is identified and that any economies are highlighted and discussed.
- To be involved in the preparation of unit budget and be conversant with the monthly departmental performance reviews.
Staff Management
- To exercise fair and firm leadership, establishing and maintaining high morale in the department.
- To monitor the level and standard of work produced by the staff and guide, to coach and advise them as appropriate.
- To facilitate the professional development of all department staff to ensure that they are competent to provide the service required currently and for the future.
- To identify the training needs for departmental staff, ensuring that mandatory training requirements are meet and documented.
- To maintain sound working relationships with all consultants and other hospital staff.
- To ensure that staff are complying with all policies that are relevant to their role and area of working.
- To produce staff duty rotas to meet the demands of the department at all times.
- To participate in the recruitment process ensuring that all new staff receive an appropriate and completed induction to the hospital and department that is documented.
- To ensure that all staff participate in appraisal reviews as per policy.
- To be responsible, with support from the Nursing and HR Managers, for all staff issues within the department pertaining to sickness, conduct and performance management.
- To ensure that regular staff meetings take place and that minutes are circulate as per terms of reference.
- To be responsible for Duty schedule and appraisal for Ward Clerk.
- To be responsible for Duty schedule and appraisal for Ward Attendants
- Health and Safety: To ensure compliance throughout the department with health and safety requirements and that appropriate policies and procedures are in place.
- To ensure the safety of all members of staff, visitors and patients.
- To ensure that all near-misses or non-compliances are reported and appropriate actions taken.
- To undertake risk assessments as necessary and participate in Health & Safety audits.
Requirements for Role of Head Nurse ER/Urgent Care Experience
- Masters in Nursing /Bachelor of Science in nursing / Diploma in nursing.
- Current license from home country, DHA license to practice in Dubai.
- Minimum 2 years of experience, in the relevant area.
- BLS provider, ACLS provider, PALS preferable.
