Ground Staff Etihad Rail Abu Dhabi

The Ground Staff will directly contribute to Etihad Rail’s service delivery and influence the service offering to our customers. This position is responsible for safe train preparation and inspection to ensure a right time departure against the service timetable. The post holder will be required to carry out tasks to maintain the work environment in a high state of cleanliness and will complete repairs to rolling stock and infrastructure as and when required. The role is responsible for the direct oversight of train loading activities and will be accountable for the integrity and security of train loads dispatched from their point of origin.

Responsibilities of Ground Staff

Following are the key responsibilities of Ground staff:-

• Train preparation, shunting and marshalling.
• Train dispatch.
• Problem Solving.
• Railway yard management.
• Safe loading of trains.
• Operation of train loading and unloading equipment as required.
• Minor repairs to rolling stock and infrastructure.
• Housekeeping.
• Data input as required to support service delivery.
• Real time reporting of service affecting issues.

Safety Responsibilities

• Comply with those elements of the company’s environment, health and safety management system and other company documents where specific responsibility is identified with the role or as a general requirement on all employees.

Requirements of Ground Staff

• Standard High School Education.
• 2+ years of previous rail experience preferred but not essential.
• UAE driving license.
