About the Role

The Graduate Transitions Officer plays a central role in the success of graduates by supporting alumni into suitable employment or other graduate outcome opportunities. Furthermore, you will develop innovative ways to connect students and graduates with high-skilled employment using Careers Registration and Graduate Outcomes data. Moreover, you will build strong relationships with graduates, employers, and internal partners while coordinating impactful employability programmes and a comprehensive calendar of careers events.

Key Responsibilities for Graduate Transitions Officer at University of Derby Derby

• Use data from Careers Registration and Graduate Outcomes Survey to identify graduate talent pools
• Promote opportunities and create new models to connect graduates with jobs and track success
• Maintain contact with graduates and increase alumni engagement with current students
• Coordinate a comprehensive careers-based calendar of events with diverse employers
• Develop and deliver a series of innovative employability programmes for students and graduates
• Act as the first point of contact for employers, professional bodies, and external organisations
• Facilitate employer and community contributions to development opportunities
• Support University-wide collaboration to ensure effective interventions for graduates
• Contribute to recruitment information and activities including open days
• Gather qualitative and quantitative feedback data to inform service improvements

Requirements

• BTEC/HND or above in a relevant subject or demonstrable equivalent experience
• Relevant experience in employability engagement event planning and delivery
• Experience promoting a programme or service across various professional networks
• Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
• Ability to compile, coordinate, and produce performance reports for stakeholders
• Proficiency in digital marketing including social media platforms
• Understanding of careers advice and guidance principles
