Job Description
The Flight Operations Engineer at Etihad Airways will ensures that the technical status of the aircrafts in Etihad fleet is in compliance with the fleet’s operational documentation in order to fulfil the CAR-AIR OPS requirement. FOE also develops and maintain the Minimum Equipment List (MEL) of aircraft operated by Etihad Airways and associated procedures. Also looks after the weight and balance data for whole fleet and Aircraft performance monitoring.
Responsibilities
- Analyze, prepare, customize and maintain Minimum Equipment List (MEL) of new and existing aircraft types of Etihad fleet.
- Perform the technical integrity check on the Flight operations manuals (OM-A, AFM, FCOM and QRH).
- Assist in providing oversight of customized technical content, approve the same.
- Technical review and evaluation of manufacturer operational publications affecting flight operation and its manuals.
- Development of Flight Crew Technical Notices (FCTN), FCIB and EY supplementary to support modifications and/or Cabin reconfigurations aligned with CAMO planning schedule.
- Ensure technical content readiness of impacted operational documentation prior to release of Aircraft.
- Analyze, develop, maintain and validate weight & balance data used in the Ground Operation’s Load Control system as well as Engineering database.
- Calculate the performance factor, fuel factor and update flight planning databases. Conduct in-depth analysis on fuel burn for airplane deviates in terms of Engine and Airframe performance which may serve as investigation and analysis for Flight Operations, Engineering fleet management and Etihad Airways Aircraft Warranty & Guarantee team.
- Conduct/assist risk assessments on special operations (such as Polar ops, PBCS, ETOPS, BRNAV, RVSM, RNP-AR) assigned by Technical Pilot/ Flight Operations management and serve as a source of professional Flight Operations Engineering advice and accurate information.
- Review and evaluate GCAA CAR-AIR OPS and proposed regulations relevant to weight & balance and airport requirements for operations.
- Ensure compliance to all applicable UAE CAR-AIR OPS regulations and GCAA requirements on the Flight operations manuals.
- Participate and support for Etihad Quality Audit on above Flight Operations Engineering functions.
- Liaise with Flight Operations management, CAMO Engineering, Ground Operations and Network Operations in the development of shared systems.
- Fleet office process/procedures and operational documentation to ensure regulatory compliance and efficiency.
- Additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned by the MFOE as required.
Requirements for Role of Flight Operations Engineer
- University Degree in Engineering.
- Minimum 5 year airline experience, preferably in-Flight Operations Engineering.
- Experience on aircraft systems, Line and base Maintenance is an advantage.
- Must have thorough working experience handling ADs/SBs impacts in Operational Documents (FCOM, QRH, MEL, FM, WBM, CCOM, etc.), to verify and approve the technical consistency of this manuals.
- Must have thorough experience on MEL development and weight and balance data interpretation/development.
- Experience in Excel (at least intermediate level) to analyze, interpret and support decision making.
- Must have training from OEM on Airbus FODM/ADOC and/or Boeing rebuilder tools (FrameMaker) or any other documentation xml authoring tool.
