Faculty Position Highway & Transportation Engineering University of Ras Al Khaimah

The Civil and Infrastructure Engineering Department at the American University of Ras Al Khaimah is seeking to fill a Faculty Position Highway & Transportation Engineering at the assistant professor level beginning Fall 2024 (August). The primary responsibility is to teach undergraduate and graduate courses at AURAK. The successful candidate will be active in research in his/her fields of interests, incorporate high impact educational practices in his/her teaching, advise undergraduate and graduate students, and provide service to the department, university, and community. The candidate will be expected to possess the credentials and ability to teach the following main courses:

• Highway Engineering and Design.
• Transportation Engineering.
• Pavement Design.

Responsibilities of Faculty Position

• Teaching graduate and undergraduate courses.
• Establishment and/or continued development of a nationally or internationally recognized research program.
• Participate in the supervision of undergraduate and postgraduate research projects and/or dissertations.
• Participation in departmental, school, and university committees
• Advising and mentoring students.
• Publishing high quality research in leading internationally recognized journals.
• Participation in outreach activities, such as continuing education workshops.
• Obtaining sponsored funding in support of research program.

Job Requirements of Faculty Position

• Doctoral degree in Civil Engineering (Highway and Transportation Engineering) from an accredited institution of higher education.
• Minimum 3 year experience in similar role.
• Interest and experience working effectively with a diverse student population.
• University teaching experience.
