Job Purpose of A Facility Management Manager
- To be responsible for the the smooth and cost-effective operations of Abu Dhabi Ports office, infrastructure and facilities by undertaking effective space management, renovation activities and corrective/preventive maintenance, landscaping, furniture under Port Cluster, Maritime Cluster, Digital Cluster, Logistics and Corporate Support.
- Moreover, to be responsible for FM Maintenance activities (Soft & Hard services) for International AD ports Group Developments.
Duties of A Facility Management Manager
- Oversee the preparation of technical specification scope of work for regular and long-term maintenance and service contracts such as HVAC, Fire Alarm, firefighting systems, elevators, landscaping, etc., to enable CPD to develop contracts and issue tenders.
- Manage the company’s facilities portfolio in a way that supports its revenue-generating activities.
- Monitor all contracting companies to ensure Abu Dhabi Ports is provided with the quality of work and services required.
- Direct, develop, supervise, and coordinate the overall activities of the department to ensure effective and efficient utilization of resources are directed towards the accomplishment of its approved goals and objectives.
- Make recommendations for outsourcing various aspects of Facility Management by preparing tender specifications, negotiating with vendors, and assigning contracts while ensuring cost optimization.

- Ensure that contractors perform tasks efficiently and cost-effectively, according to program schedules, specifications, and as per department/section standards.
What You’ll Do More?
- Determine and implement operating procedures for all functions within Facility Management.
- Implement improvement initiatives at the department level to contribute to the long-term effectiveness of the Department/section.
- Oversee the preparation of technical evaluation of tenders to assess contractors/suppliers’ submittals before awarding the contract.
- Prepare and summarize expense reports for the various cost heads to highlight variances in budget and track expenditure.
- Oversee taking over Abu Dhabi Ports-owned buildings.
- Prepare Technical reports, and ensure that defects are removed from the property prior to taking over.
- Plan and supervise the efficient layout of Office Space requirements (Allocations/Addition) to ensure optimum utilization of Office space.
- Performs other similar or related responsibilities as assigned, such as providing technical advice regarding changes in layout as requested, directing preparation of drawings/sketches/reports, introduction of improvements and development of operations in multi-disciplinary engineering services.
- Providing technical proposals on replacement/up gradation of obsolete equipment, etc.
- Perform other relevant functions in the Utilities & Facility Management Department as assigned by the Director.
- Assist in developing the department budget in conjunction with the unit’s budget, track expenses, and ensure adherence.
- Finalize the manning needs of the section and obtain requisite approvals.
- Manage the team under the Facility Management section by evaluating the performance of team members.
- Providing feedback on an ongoing basis, identifying development needs, and coaching them to ensure ongoing capability development.
- Conduct training for the team on various aspects on which the role holder has subject matter expertise.
- To ensure compliance with the Facility Management Plan and smooth operation of all facilities, both hard & soft services.
Qualification & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering (Civil/Electrical or Mechanical).
- 10-12 years of progressive experience in a similar field or similar organization.
- Extensive professional experience in Facilities Management and the capability to withstand work pressure.
Skills & Knowledge Desired
- Ability to identify and solve problems quickly and effectively.
- Ability to think strategically.
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office is also essential.
