Examination Officer – August 2026 Dubai, UAE Full-time

This role oversees the end‑to‑end management of all internal and external examinations at a BSO‑accredited ‘Outstanding’ British school, therefore ensuring full compliance with JCQ, Cambridge International, Pearson Edexcel, and KHDA regulations. You will coordinate examination schedules, liaise with awarding bodies, train invigilators, and manage the secure handling of examination papers and confidential materials. Consequently, your meticulous planning and integrity will directly create a fair, stress‑free environment where every student can demonstrate their true potential.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, organise, and oversee all internal and external examinations (IGCSE, A Level, BTEC, and mock exams), therefore ensuring full compliance with JCQ, awarding body, and KHDA regulations.
• Liaise with examination boards (e.g., Cambridge International, Pearson Edexcel) to register students, order papers, and manage entries, amendments, and special access arrangements.
• Recruit, train, and supervise examination invigilators, ensuring they understand their roles, responsibilities, and examination conduct procedures.
• Maintain the secure storage and handling of examination papers, stationery, and confidential materials, adhering strictly to security protocols.
• Ensure examination rooms are set up correctly, with appropriate seating arrangements, signage, and equipment, and manage the timely distribution and collection of papers.
• Coordinate special access arrangements for students with SEN or EAL, including extra time, scribes, readers, and rest breaks, liaising with the Inclusion department.
• Manage the receipt, dispatch, and secure handling of examination scripts, including courier arrangements for external marking.
• Prepare and present results data to school leadership, parents, and students, and oversee the clearance process for students leaving the school.
• Respond to awarding body queries and investigations, and support appeals and post‑results services (e.g., remarking) as required.
• Maintain accurate records of examination entries, fees, and certificates, ensuring timely distribution of certificates to students.

Requirements And Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in any discipline.
• 2–3 years of work experience in a similar Examination Officer role, preferably within a British curriculum school.
• Strong knowledge of JCQ regulations, awarding body procedures (Cambridge International, Pearson Edexcel), and KHDA examination requirements.
• Proven ability to manage multiple examination series simultaneously, working under pressure and meeting strict deadlines.
• Excellent organisational, analytical, and problem‑facing skills, with high attention to detail and confidentiality.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and experience with examination management systems (e.g., CIE Direct, Edexcel Online).
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to liaise confidently with awarding bodies, students, parents, and staff.
• Clean UK‑enhanced DBS or equivalent police check, as per GEMS Education’s safeguarding policy.
