Engineer – Network and Security EDGE Group PJSC Abu Dhabi, AE Full-time

This role architects, designs, and implements scalable, resilient network solutions for secure communication products serving governments and businesses, while developing security policies that safeguard critical data. You will deploy and manage routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers, then conduct regular security assessments and audits to address vulnerabilities. Consequently, your expertise in ISO 27001, NIST frameworks, and intrusion detection/prevention systems directly ensures network availability, reliability, and protection against cyber threats within KATIM’s four core business units: Networks, Ultra Secure Mobile Devices, Applications, and Satellite Communications.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and implement scalable and resilient network solutions that meet business requirements for performance and reliability.
• Deploy and manage network devices including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers. Therefore, ensure network availability meets or exceeds service level agreements.
• Develop and implement security policies, protocols, and procedures to safeguard the organisation’s network and data.
• Conduct regular security assessments and audits, addressing vulnerabilities and ensuring compliance with industry standards (ISO 27001, NIST).
• Design, configure, and manage firewalls to protect against unauthorised access and cyber threats. Implement and manage VPN solutions for secure remote access.
• Monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to optimise performance. Conduct capacity planning to anticipate future network needs.
• Implement and manage intrusion detection and prevention systems (IDS/IPS) to identify and mitigate security threats.
• Investigate security incidents, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• In-depth knowledge of network protocols, routing, and switching (e.g., BGP, OSPF, VLANs, STP).
• Expertise in security technologies, including firewalls (e.g., Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco ASA), intrusion detection/prevention systems, and VPNs (IPsec, SSL).
• Familiarity with industry standards and frameworks such as ISO 27001 and NIST. Therefore, able to conduct compliance audits.
• Relevant certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, CISSP, or equivalent are strongly preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to troubleshoot complex network and security issues.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross‑functional teams and clients.
• Proven track record of successfully managing complex networking and security projects from design through implementation.
