Key Responsibilities

• Respond to emergency and non-emergency calls across the Al Ain region. Assess patients on scene, determine the appropriate level of care, and deliver basic and intermediate life support interventions within your DOH-approved EMT scope of practice.
• Conduct primary and secondary patient assessments including vital sign monitoring, ECG recording, physical examination, and clinical history gathering. Recognise deterioration early and escalate to medical control when required.
• Deliver EMT-level interventions including airway management, CPR, AED use, bleeding control, fracture immobilisation, spinal precautions, oxygen administration, and glucose monitoring.
• Monitor patients continuously during transport to the receiving facility. Adapt care in response to condition changes and hand over clear, accurate clinical information to emergency department staff on arrival.
• Complete pre-hospital care reports accurately and completely for every patient contact. Meet DOH and organisational documentation standards on every shift.
• Inspect, restock, and maintain the ambulance and all medical equipment after every call. Ensure full vehicle and equipment readiness at all times in line with infection control and safety protocols.
• Collaborate effectively with paramedics, ambulance drivers, dispatchers, field supervisors, and hospital emergency teams across the Al Ain emergency medical services network.
• Attend mandatory continuing education, refresher training, and clinical competency assessments. Maintain all certifications and DOH licence requirements throughout the contract period.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Valid Abu Dhabi Department of Health (DOH) active licence as an Emergency Medical Technician — or a current DOH eligibility letter confirming readiness to practise.
• Minimum one year of post-registration experience in a pre-hospital emergency care or EMT role.
• Competency across the full EMT scope including airway management, AED operation, CPR, patient immobilisation, wound care, and medication administration within approved protocols.
• Strong patient assessment skills across diverse age groups, clinical presentations, and emergency scenarios common to the Al Ain regional environment.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure in a physically demanding, fast-paced pre-hospital setting with minimal supervision.
• Clear written and spoken English communication skills. Arabic language ability is a strong advantage in the Al Ain patient and operational environment.
