About the Role

As an Economics Teacher at Gems Westminster School Sharjah, you will deliver the required Economics curriculum to secondary students, demonstrating accurate and up-to-date subject knowledge. Furthermore, you will plan and deliver quality lessons that motivate students while creating appropriate materials and classroom environments to cater for different learning styles. The successful candidate will also maintain records of curriculum plans, assessments, and student progress in line with GEMS policies.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver the Economics curriculum with accurate and up-to-date subject knowledge
• Plan and deliver quality lessons that motivate students and cater to different learning styles
• Maintain records of curriculum and year plans, attendance, teaching resources, and assessment plans
• Teach students according to their individual needs using appropriate differentiation strategies
• Establish a positive and stimulating classroom environment that encourages academic achievement
• Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school community events
• Ensure GEMS policies, procedures, and codes of conduct are followed at all times

Requirements

• Bachelor of Education or Bachelor’s degree with PGCE, PGDE, or equivalent qualification
• Minimum of 2 years of experience teaching Economics at the secondary level
• Strong subject knowledge in Economics with experience teaching GCSE and A Level syllabi
• Ability to differentiate instruction for students of varying abilities and backgrounds
• Excellent classroom management, communication, and organisational skills
• A commitment to professional development and continuous improvement
