About the Role
The Dean of the School of Business at American University in Dubai will provide strategic and academic leadership to the School, which educates a plurality of the university’s students. Furthermore, the next Dean will join a leadership team executing a new strategic plan with opportunities to promote student success, expand faculty research capacity, and deepen partnerships with local and global organizations. Moreover, the Dean will help strengthen graduate offerings and shape the School’s evolving identity at the intersection of business, technology, and society.
Key Responsibilities for Dean of the School of Business at American University in Dubai Dubai
- Lead the strategic direction and academic vision of the School of Business
- Manage faculty recruitment, development, retention, and performance evaluation
- Coordinate curriculum development and ensure alignment with AACSB accreditation standards
- Develop and strengthen partnerships with industry leaders, corporate sponsors, and global academic institutions
- Support the growth and quality of undergraduate, MBA, and graduate business programs
- Monitor and manage the School’s budget, resources, and strategic investments
- Promote research excellence and scholarly output among faculty members
- Contribute to university-wide strategic planning, governance, and leadership initiatives
- Lead fundraising and development efforts for the School of Business
- Develop experiential learning and entrepreneurship programs that connect students with the business community
Requirements
- Earned doctorate in a business discipline from an accredited institution
- Distinguished record of academic achievement including teaching, research, and service at the rank of Professor
- Significant administrative and leadership experience in business education, preferably as a Dean or Associate Dean
- Demonstrated experience with AACSB or equivalent business accreditation processes
- Strong track record of building partnerships with industry, government, and academic organizations
- Excellent English communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills
- International experience and cultural sensitivity are highly valued
