Dubai Islamic Bank
Data Stewardship Manager at Dubai Islamic Bank is responsible to effectively oversee data stewardship activities, and to drive data quality remediation projects in collaboration with business stakeholder ensuring adherence to data governance policies and processes. The role also involves engaging with stakeholders to facilitating consensus, building, conduct training and awareness programs in data governance practices.
Responsibilities of Data Stewardship Manager
- Oversee and facilitate data stewardship activities for business data stewards across multiple domains and departments.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders to drive consensus on data governance practices and framework.
- Collaborate with the Meta data and Data Quality Management team to ensure that the identified data quality gaps are socialized with respective data stewards for remediation.
- Oversee remediation approaches and data quality remediation projects to ensure timely and effective resolution.
- Ensure policy embedding within various business domains to maintain compliance and adherence to data governance policies and regulatory requirements.
- Assist in conducting periodic data stewardship forums for aiding the over all data stewardship effort in the organization to have consistency and consensus in the effort to drive toward a common goal of stewardship.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance data stewardship processes by guiding data stewards on best practices and methodologies that are appropriate for the improvement and maintenance of data under their ownership.
- Conduct data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement in data quality and data remediation approaches.
- Conduct awareness programs, technical training and documentation with various stakeholders in support of data governance and master data management tool.
- All the above accountabilities include but not limited to any additional/new tasks or responsibilities assigned by the line Manager.
Requirements of Data Stewardship Manager
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems/Technology, Business administration or Data Science.
- Minimum 6 – 8 years of experience in Financial Services with deep knowledge in various Data Governance disciplines such as Data Stewardship, Data Quality and remediations, Meta Data Management and Master Data management.
- Experience with data management tools and technologies such as Informatica and Collibra.
- Experience in developing and implementing data governance policy, process and controls.
Skills and Knowledge Desired
- In depth knowledge of data governance standards, industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills with Excel, SQL etc.
- Banking Products, services and Banking/Operations workflow knowledge.
