Cover Supervisor – Secondary Full-time

Job Purpose:

The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising students in the absence of their regular teachers, ensuring that the curriculum is delivered effectively by maintaining a positive learning environment. This role is pivotal in supporting the school’s mission to provide high-quality education and uphold the standards of excellence for which the school is known.

Key Relationships (Internal and External):

Teachers, Students, Parents, Principal and other members of the school management team as well as External suppliers and Standard Agencies

Key Accountabilities:

• Supervise classes across the secondary school in the absence of the regular teacher.
• Ensure students remain on task by managing classroom behaviour and following the school’s behaviour policy.
• Deliver lessons pre-prepared by the regular teacher and provide support to students as they complete set tasks.
• Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and engagement.
• Provide feedback to the regular teacher on student progress and behaviour during their absence id required.
• Uphold the school’s values and ethos, promoting a culture of respect and continuous improvement.

Education:

A bachelor’s degree in education or a related field is preferred but not essential.

Experience:

• Previous experience in a supervisory or educational role is desirable.
• Familiarity with the British curriculum is an advantage.
