Job Description

NMC Healthcare currently has a job opening for suitably qualified candidate for position of a Consultant Pulmonology in NMC Royal Hospital, Sharjah, AE. This is an Intermediate level full time role. For this position salary ranges from 25000-55000 AED, which may be slightly negotiable during the interview process.

Responsibilities of Consultant Pulmonology

  • Performs the professional duties of a Consultant Pulmonologist in adherence to the delineation of privileges depending on the efficiency and skills of the particular individual.
  • Answer inpatients consultations from medical or other in patient services.
  • Orders diagnostic laboratory and X – ray examinations, determining the diagnosis and prescribing applicable therapy and taking the necessary preventive medicine.
  • Reviews journals and text books in order to keep current on latest techniques procedures and therapies.
  • Participate in continuing in- service training programs, Physician’ conference, etc.
  • Responsible for the proper practice of infection control guidelines in all clinical areas.
  • Active participation and sustained qualification in all cardio – pulmonary resuscitation programs.
  • Attends staff meeting and weekly rounds. Participates in in-service activities as required, i.e., morbidity & mortality conference, peer reviews, etc.
  • Performs additional duties as designated by the superiors.

Requirements for Role of Consultant Pulmonology

  • Graduation from an approved medical school plus one year of internship.
  • Post- graduate degree in Pulmonology from a recognized medical college.
  • At least three (5) years of practice as a Pulmonologist after certification.

Skills And Knowledge Desired

  • Excellent command of oral & written English.
  • Knowledge of Arabic language is desirable but not essential.
