Consultant Paediatric Dermatologist – Abu Dhabi Full-time

This role diagnoses and manages skin conditions unique to the paediatric population—from neonatal haemangiomas and atopic dermatitis to genetic blistering disorders and paediatric psoriasis—within a state-of-the-art specialty hospital co-managed with a major US medical institution. You will design topical, systemic, and laser-based treatment protocols tailored to a child’s age, weight, and developmental stage. The position operates within a US-collaborative model, where your dermatologic decisions directly impact a child’s quality of life, scarring risk, and long-term skin health.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and manage common paediatric dermatoses including atopic dermatitis, seborrheic dermatitis, diaper dermatitis, and molluscum contagiosum.
• Evaluate and treat vascular birthmarks such as infantile haemangiomas, port-wine stains, and venous malformations, including pulsed dye laser therapy when indicated.
• Manage paediatric acne, hidradenitis suppurativa, and drug eruptions with age-appropriate pharmacological interventions.
• Diagnose and coordinate care for genetic skin disorders including epidermolysis bullosa, ichthyosis, and neurofibromatosis.
• Perform paediatric skin biopsies, curettage, and excision of benign or malignant lesions under local or general anaesthesia.
• Prescribe and monitor immunomodulators, biologics, and systemic retinoids for severe paediatric psoriasis or autoimmune skin diseases.
• Provide family-centred education on emollient therapy, wet wrap techniques, and trigger avoidance for chronic eczema management.
• Collaborate with paediatric allergists, rheumatologists, and plastic surgeons for multidisciplinary care of complex cases.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Specialty qualification in Dermatology from a Tier 1 country recognized by UAE licensing authority (e.g., CCT, CCST, American Board, FRACP, RCPSC, DES, Fachärztliche Anerkennung/Urkunde).
• Formal subspecialty training in Paediatrics or Paediatric Dermatology (recognized fellowship or equivalent).
• Minimum 2 years post-specialty experience in a hospital setting within Western Europe, North America, or Australasia.
• Demonstrated expertise in paediatric procedural dermatology including cryotherapy, curettage, and laser therapy.
• Experience managing paediatric vascular anomalies and genetic skin disorders in a multidisciplinary setting.
• Valid consultant-level license or eligibility for UAE licensure from a Tier 1 country.
• Fluency in English required; Arabic language skills preferred.
