Job Description
Transguard Group presently has a job opening for qualified and experienced candidate for the position of a Communication Manager in Dubai. The selected candidate will plan, execute and evaluate communication strategies related to media relations, internal, corporate and crisis communications, that positively reinforces and protects the reputation of Dubai Airports and its associated brands amongst its guests and employees, develop communication strategies in line with the overall Marketing & Corporate Communications Strategy, as well as help achieve company’s corporate goals.
Duties of Communication Manager
- Support the Head of External Comms and Head of Internal Comms in developing, researching, executing, and evaluating  communication strategies.
- Support the Head of External Comms in managing the PR agency.
- Develop press releases, talking points, speeches, and internal copy for relevant external and internal communication channels.
- Secure interviews with relevant media for company’s spokespeople around events, innovations, and news.
- Support crisis communications strategy and quarterly refresher trainings.
- Manage and respond to media queries with carefully researched and approved information to maintain consistency of the information provided to different media.
- Ensure media statements are aligned with Dubai Airports’ corporate policy, and always keep its corporate reputation in mind.
- Plan and prepare His Highness, CEO, and senior management for media interviews by providing a briefing document and being in attendance to ensure media do not overstep their remit.
- Create media campaigns, oversee, and direct press conferences.
- Keep media kits and fact sheets up to date.
- Secure opportunities to conduct media tours and accompany them on-site, briefing them on the facilities, and preparing media packs and giveaways.
- Represents company at various events and exhibitions, as per the planned communications strategy and ensure media coverage is leveraged or amplified at every exhibition or event.
- Establish lines for knowledge and information sharing to improve and coordinate communications.
- Create and develop content for internal communications channels.
Eligibility Requirements
The eligibility requirements for role of a Communication Manager are as under:
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in working with travel retail businesses and hospitality.
- Experience managing a PR agency.
Skills & Knowledge Desired
- Training in PR and crisis communications .
- Communication to a worldwide audience both B2B and B2C
- Good working knowledge of airport / aviation industry, its general environment and stakeholder management (internal and with concessionaries).
- Experience in working with travel retail businesses and hospitality.
- Ability to work with own initiative to deliver results by implementing appropriate communication strategies and follow up reporting.
- Excellent written and spoken English press releases, media statements, talking points, speeches and internal emails / posts (Arabic would be beneficial).
- Working cross functionally with internal and external stakeholders to support the delivery of major projects impacting  both revenue and NPS objectives.
- An excellent understanding of how media operate and knowing how to engage with them to secure positive media coverage.
