Job Description

This full-time Commis I Banqueting role at Bloom Arjaan by Rotana (modern 4-star apartment hotel in the heart of Abu Dhabi’s business district) is one of the best high-volume banqueting tickets in the city right now – you’ll work the main production kitchen feeding massive weddings, corporate events, and government functions (up to 800 pax). Straight or split shifts, 6 days/week. Pay is AED 3,200 basic + AED 3,000–4,500 service charge = AED 6,200–7,700/month tax-free + shared accommodation, transport, annual flight, medical, duty meals, 30 days leave, Rotana worldwide staff rates. Perfect step-up for strong Commis II who wants big volume, big tips, and real promotion to DCDP fast.

Job Title

Commis I – Banqueting Kitchen

Responsibilities

  • Prep & cook for banqueting 300–800 pax (Arabic, Indian, international).
  • Run your station under CDP/DCDP.
  • Massive mise-en-place for buffets & plated events.
  • Plate starters, mains, desserts during service.
  • Control portion & minimise waste.
  • Keep kitchen HACCP-perfect.
  • Help other sections when needed.

Requirements

Education

Professional chef diploma or apprenticeship.

Experience

2–4 years as Commis II in 4–5 star hotel banqueting or high-volume kitchen.

Qualifications

  • Can work in UAE (visa sponsored).
  • Basic spoken English (Arabic a bonus).

Skills

  • Fast & clean on the line.
  • Strong knife skills & plating.
  • Work under pressure in 40 °C kitchen.
  • Follow recipes exactly.

Knowledge

  • Arabic & Indian banquet classics.
  • Buffet presentation & volume production.
  • Food safety & cost control.
  • Wedding & corporate event flow.
