Job Description
Sofitel Dubai The Palm is presently accepting applications from suitable candidate for the job role of Commis I. The role holder is responsible to assist in the preparation and baking of high quality pastries and bread at Accor Hotels in the UAE as a Commis I Baker.
Responsibilities of Commis I
- Produce all necessary food for all food service operations as required and instructed by the Executive Pastry Chef.
- Maintaining quality and quantity control in all aspects, from portion control to freshness of the product presented.
- Previous experience working in a busy kitchen
- Reliable and hardworking.
- Team player with the ability to work under pressure.
- Has excellent communication skills, strong work ethic and a positive attitude.
- Be familiar with the other kitchen sections, promoting flexibility and productivity.
- Ensure all food produced is in line with kitchen recipes and standards.
Requirements of Commis I
- Vocational diploma in food & beverage and/or any initial training.
- Ideally you would have a qualification in pastry/culinary
- 2 years of previous experience as a Pastry Commis Chef.
Skills and Knowledge Desired
- Have passion for Pastry and willing to learn.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure.
