Job Purpose of A Chef De Partie
To oversee and manage a specific section of the kitchen, ensuring the preparation and delivery of high quality dishes while maintaining kitchen standards and collaborating with the culinary team.
Duties of A Chef De Partie
- Assist the Chef de Cuisine/Sous Chef in developing standard recipes which allow the kitchen department to operate at an acceptable cost.
- Organize shifts in the designated section with regard to mise en place production and its service.
- Maintain good colleagues relations and motivate colleagues.
- Check food preparation daily, portion size, quantity and quality as laid down in the recipe index.
- Whenever required, attend daily meetings with the Chef de Cuisine or Sous Chef and other meetings.
Qualification & Experience
- High School Diploma.
- Professional qualification or certification in kitchen production or management.
- Experience in either European, Arabic or Asian cuisines.
- 1-2 years of experience in the same position in a luxury 5-star hotel or a renowned restaurant.
- Completed kitchen apprentice or chefs training courses for at least one year.
Skills & Knowledge Desired
- Demonstrate passion for quality and cooking.
- Fluent in English.
- Comprehensive knowledge of kitchen hygiene practices and occupational health and safety standards.
- Basic computer skills in MS Office and recipe maintenance system.
