City University Ajman needs a reliable Cashier to join its finance team. This full time role involves managing daily financial transactions with accuracy and integrity. You will provide excellent customer service to students, staff, and visitors. In addition, you will handle cash, cheques, credit cards, and electronic payments. You will also issue receipts, refunds, and credits. Your goal is to support the university’s financial operations while maintaining organized records. If you hold a bachelor degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field, this role suits you. Previous cashiering experience in an educational institution is preferred.

Key Responsibilities for Cashier Ajman, United Arab Emirates

• Greet customers as they approach the counter in a professional and courteous manner

• Respond to inquiries and provide accurate information about procedures and policies

• Receive payments via cash, cheque, credit cards, or electronic methods

• Issue receipts, refunds, credits, or change as required

• Accurately compute and record all transactions

• Reconcile total payments received with recorded sales on a daily basis

• Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workstation

• Assist in preparing financial reports for university management

• Maintain periodic balance sheets of transactions and financial records

• Sort, count, and securely manage currency and coins

• Compile and maintain both monetary and non monetary records

• Ensure timely submission of financial data to the Finance Department

• Follow all cash handling procedures in line with university policies

• Maintain accurate cash balances at the assigned register at all times

• Identify opportunities for process improvement and recommend enhancements

• Support in training new cashier staff on university procedures and systems

• Coordinate with the Accounts team to ensure smooth daily operations

• Escalate complex issues or discrepancies to the supervisor promptly

• Ensure all tasks comply with university policies and procedures

• Attend meetings and contribute to operational discussions when required

• Handle confidential financial information with the highest level of discretion

• Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field

• Previous experience in cashiering, finance, or a similar role

• Experience in an educational institution is preferred

• Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail

• Good communication and interpersonal skills

• Proficiency in MS Office and financial systems

• Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and professionalism
