Job Description
The Butcher Associate at Everyday Goods(flagship brand linked to GMG) will be responsible for preparing and cutting meat products according to established standards, ensuring quality, freshness and customer satisfaction. The job holder should have expertise in meat cutting techniques, knowledge of various cuts and a commitment to maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety. Responsibilities
- Cutting, trimming & preparing various cuts of meat according to customer preferences & specifications.
- Ensuring accuracy in portion control and adherence to quality standards.
- Displaying meat products in an appealing and organized manner to attract customers, while monitoring and rotating stock to maintain freshness.
- Quality control is paramount, as inspect meat products for quality, freshness & proper labeling & dispose of expired or spoiled products following established procedures.
- Providing excellent customer service is essential, as they assist customers in selecting meat products.
- Provide information on cuts, cooking methods and recommendations and fulfill customer orders promptly and accurately.
- Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in the butchery area is crucial for sanitation and safety purposes.
- Must follow safety protocols and guidelines for the proper handling of knives and equipment.
- Responsible for monitoring and managing meat inventory levels, reporting shortages or excess inventory to the relevant personnel to ensure efficient inventory management.
- People Management: Collaboration with other kitchen staff and management to coordinate product offerings and promotions.
- Functional and Technical Competencies: Participate in team meetings and training sessions as required.
Requirements for Role of Butcher Associate
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- 1-2 years experience in a meat department, butcher shop, or food service environment.
