About the Role
The Assistant Professor of Oral Histopathology at Al Ain University will deliver specialized instruction in Oral Histopathology to undergraduate dental students at the Abu Dhabi campus. This role reports to the College of Dentistry Dean and involves teaching, laboratory supervision, research, and active participation in curriculum development. Furthermore, the successful candidate will lead research initiatives, contribute to ongoing dental research projects, and work to secure external research funding where applicable. Moreover, this position requires a highly motivated academic with strong publication credentials and a commitment to mentoring students in academic and professional development.
Key Responsibilities for Assistant Professor of Oral Histopathology at Al Ain University Abu Dhabi
- Teach and deliver lectures on Oral Histopathology to undergraduate dental students.
- Supervise laboratory work, ensuring students gain practical skills in histological techniques and oral pathology.
- Engage in continuous development and revision of the Oral Histopathology curriculum.
- Lead research initiatives and contribute to existing dental research projects at the college.
- Secure external funding for research projects where applicable.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to students in academic and research activities.
- Participate in university committees and departmental activities to support the academic environment.
- Work collaboratively with faculty and staff to promote the department’s educational objectives.
- Publish research in peer-reviewed journals indexed in the Scopus database.
- Contribute to accreditation initiatives at local and international levels through curriculum mapping.
Requirements
- Ph.D. in Oral Pathology, Oral Histology, or a closely related field.
- Minimum 2+ years of proven teaching excellence at the university level.
- Research published in peer-reviewed journals indexed in the Scopus database.
- Dedication to continued professional development and curriculum renewal.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
- Advanced use of educational technology including e-learning systems and laboratory demonstration tools.
- Willingness to provide all necessary and required services to the university and college.
