This role supports the head groomer in dematting, detangling, bathing, conditioning, and drying pets of various sizes and temperaments, while also assisting with nail trims, teeth brushing, and ear cleaning. You will identify health issues such as ear infections, skin conditions, or tooth decay, therefore informing pet owners of these observations for timely veterinary follow‑up. The position operates within Groomy’s calm, stress‑free environment using natural products, where your attention to safety and cleanliness directly enhances the grooming experience for both pets and their owners.

Key Responsibilities

• Demat and detangle hair as required. Bathe, condition, and dry pets using appropriate techniques for different coat types and temperaments.
• Assist the head groomer in trimming pets’ nails, brushing their teeth, and cleaning their ears. Therefore, support grooming and styling according to owner instructions or standard styles.
• Identify health issues such as ear infections, skin conditions, or tooth decay. Inform pet owners of these observations and recommend veterinary follow‑up when needed.
• Ensure that all pets are safe during the grooming process, using proper restraint techniques and stress‑reduction methods.
• Routinely clean work areas, including grooming tables, tubs, and tools, to maintain a hygienic environment.
• Maintain stock needed for daily activities in the grooming area, including shampoos, conditioners, and disposable supplies.
• Work closely with all colleagues and nurture a culture of collaboration and teamwork. Assist the veterinarian if needed.
• Use veterinary management software (Ezy‑Vet) to log grooming notes, client communications, and pet health observations.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of experience as a pet groomer or assistant groomer, preferably in a professional grooming or veterinary setting.
• Strong collaboration and interpersonal abilities to work effectively with the head groomer, veterinarian, and support staff.
• Excellent communication and client interaction skills. Therefore, able to explain grooming recommendations and health observations to pet owners clearly.
• Strategic thinking and problem‑solving capabilities to achieve operational goals, including managing multiple pets in a fast‑paced environment.
• Attention to detail and organisational skills to manage grooming schedules, equipment maintenance, and stock levels.
• Strong understanding of veterinary management software Ezy‑Vet (experience with logging, scheduling, and client records).
• Proficiency in English is required; knowledge of Arabic is advantageous.
• Experience in the UAE veterinary market, handling diverse clients, and collaborating with local veterinary organisations is preferred.
