Responsibilities of Assistant Finance Manager

  • Financial Reporting: Prepare, present, and analyze financial reports like income statements and balance sheets. Follow all the rules and standards, specifically International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
  • Financial Analysis: Examine closely how the overall bank and its segments earn and spend money, encompassing analysis of profits, revenues, and costs.
  • Developing Reports: Create new easy-to-understand reports and ensure consistency in reporting across the bank.
  • Improving Processes: Seek better ways to report financial information, manage performance, and keep standard operating procedures up to date.
  • Guiding the Finance Team: Lead and support other finance staff.
  • Helping with Audits: Support and prepare for external audits and other regulatory checks. Assist with VAT & Corporate Tax.
  • Other Tasks: Be ready to take on different tasks like special reports or analysis as and when required.

Requirements of Assistant Finance Manager

  • Degree in business / accounting or related field.
  • Qualified CA/CMA/ACCA/ CPA is mandatory.
  • Minimum 5-7 years in a bank or other financial institution handling the same or similar responsibilities.

Skills and Knowledge Desired

  • Proficiency in MS Office, expert use of MS Excel.
  • International financial reporting standard knowledge.
  • Understanding of banking systems such as Core Banking, Microsoft Dynamics (ERP).
  • Ability to analyze and generate statistical information.
  • Ability to think logically and analyze problems and propose solutions.
  • Good standard of written communication and the ability to produce clear documentation.
  • Good verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues clearly and in a simple manner.
  • Ability to work as part of a team, sharing understanding and experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
