BFL Group is actively seeking experienced and qualified individual to take on the role of Assistant Buyer in Dubai. The selected candidate will be responsible to work closely with vendors, maintaining positive relationships while negotiating pricing and deadlines. Candidate must be able to work independently and prioritize job duties, as well as place and track purchase orders. Job holder will be accountable to ensure all materials are purchased on time, negotiating with suppliers, building long term relationships and keeping track of market trends.
Responsibilities of Assistant Buyer
- Work on files to calculate the right price and choose the right product mix.
- Write, place and track purchase orders.
- Ensure products are purchased at the right time, to specification and at a good price; as well as, check prices online and compare them to the market.
- Build a positive, long-term relationships with suppliers.
- Prepare competitive retail and pricing strategies if needed.
- Plan, monitor and maintain suitable inventory levels.
- Ask buying managers for new offers of specific brands or a category of a specific department.
- Assemble reports on product performance and statistics and report accordingly to head of buying.
- Maintain awareness of all fashion brands and market trends.
- Maintain buying spreadsheets and records with all product information. Along with, upload manifest of the items arriving.
- Liaise with the relevant departments when needed and support the warehouse with the prices if any.
Requirements for Role of Assistant Buyer
- A bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, economics, or in a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in the same field.
Skills And Knowledge Desired
- Must be confident and highly organized.
- Strong interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills.
- Strong analytical thinking and good negotiating skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft office is a must.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Capable to work as a part of a team and on own initiative.
