Key Responsibilities for Assistant/Associate Professor in Cybersecurity Al Ain, UAE

• Design, develop, and deliver undergraduate and graduate-level courses in cybersecurity, including areas such as network security, cryptography, ethical hacking, and secure systems design.
• Build and lead an independent research program that produces publications in Q1-ranked journals and presentations at top-tier international conferences.
• Identify, write, and secure competitive research grants from national bodies such as ADEK, ASPIRE, and international funding agencies.
• Supervise and mentor MSc and PhD students through their research proposals, fieldwork, and thesis completion.
• Initiate and manage collaborative research projects with other CIT departments, cross-university faculties, and external industry or government partners.
• Contribute to curriculum review and development, ensuring course content reflects current threat landscapes, industry standards, and emerging cybersecurity frameworks.
• Participate in departmental committees, accreditation processes, and academic governance responsibilities as assigned by CIT leadership.
• Engage with the UAE’s broader cybersecurity ecosystem — including regulators, critical infrastructure operators, and technology firms — to align research with national strategic priorities.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Cybersecurity, Information Security, Computer Science, or a closely related discipline from an internationally recognized, reputable institution.
• Demonstrated publication record in Q1 journals and/or top-tier peer-reviewed conferences in cybersecurity or adjacent fields.
• Proven track record of securing competitive research grants, either as principal investigator or co-investigator.
• Experience teaching and supervising students at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, with evidence of teaching effectiveness.
• Expertise in one or more specialized cybersecurity domains such as IoT security, cloud security, malware analysis, digital forensics, AI/ML-based threat intelligence, or critical infrastructure protection.
• Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills with a track record of working across interdisciplinary research teams.
• Must be available to join UAEU by Fall 2026.
• Industry certifications such as CISSP, CEH, or CISM are an advantage but not mandatory.
