Job Description

The School of Engineering, University of Wollongong Dubai (UOWD) is presently seeking applications from experienced academics at the Assistant or Associate Professor level in field of Computer Engineering. The selected candidate will be responsible to contribute primarily to teaching of specialisation subjects in key areas of Real time Embedded Systems, Microcontroller Architecture and Applications and Programming of Autonomous Systems. The role holder will also contribute to delivery of common foundational subjects in Programming for Engineers, Engineering Computing and Analysis, Circuits and Systems as well as Electronics.

Duties of Assistant/Associate Professor Computer Engineering

In Leadership and as part of the dynamic team of the School of Engineering, the successful candidate is expected to play an important role in the engagement with industry on collaborative projects, the supervision of students’ capstone projects and contributions to reviews and continuous improvement of the discipline. In research, the candidate is expected to contribute primarily to research and research leadership in the field of Computer Engineering.

Requirements for Assistant/Associate Professor Computer Engineering

  • PhD degree in Computer Engineering or a closely related discipline from a reputed and recognised international institution.
  • 3-5 years of teaching experience in the field of Computer Engineering.
  • Experience in supervising of students capstone projects and research.

Skills & Knowledge Desired

  • Active research record in the field Computer Engineering or closely related field with relevant research output in recognised international journals as well as evidence of research leadership and collaboration.
  • Fluency in English language (both spoken and written).
