This 12‑month program provides comprehensive training in the maintenance, repair, and overhaul of light and heavy track vehicle systems for the UAE Armed Forces. You will assist in technical inspections, troubleshooting, disassembly, and repair of major assemblies including powerpacks, engines, transmissions, and final drives. Consequently, you will complete maintenance documentation, comply with safety directives, and prepare for a seamless transition into a full‑time position within our organisation, confident that you are supporting mission‑ready land‑based platforms and warfighters.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the performance of technical inspections, troubleshooting, disassembly, repair, rebuild, overhauling, and servicing of both light and heavy track vehicle systems.
- Provide assistance to technicians performing maintenance, repair, rebuild, and overhauling in accordance with manufacturer’s technical manuals and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Assist in the repair or replacement of major assemblies (powerpacks, engines, transmissions, final drives) and their associated sub‑assemblies (starters, generators, alternators, suspension arms, road wheels, track).
- Assist in the accomplishment of preventive maintenance (scheduled servicing) following all directives and manufacturer’s technical manuals.
- Complete maintenance‑related documentation such as work orders, repair parts request forms, and technical data sheets. Record work accomplished, hours associated, repair parts requirements, and vehicle‑specific information.
- Comply with all safety, housekeeping, and environmental directives. Ensure all issued tools, uniforms, and personal protective equipment (PPE) are accounted for, maintained, and secured.
- Ensure all residual serviceable repair parts are returned to the Workshop Store, and all unserviceable, repairable parts are cleaned, drained, and returned accordingly.
- Perform other duties as directed by the Manager, Apprentice Program.
Requirements & Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent is preferred. Completion of formal vocational training is required.
- Ability to interpret simple hydraulic and electrical schematics.
- Familiarity with diagnostic testing equipment is desired.
- Capable of reading, speaking, and writing English fluently.
- Have, or be able to obtain, a valid UAE Driver’s License.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn hands‑on vehicle repair techniques.
- Commitment to safety, housekeeping, and environmental standards in a workshop environment.
- Ability to follow technical manuals and documented procedures accurately.
